There are a few vital checks that should be undertaken every day as part of your cleaning and maintenance routine.

- Check that all the electrical cables and connections are secure and undamaged – including the plug socket. Always switch off the machine and disconnect the power supply.
- Check the dust exhaust for blockages and ensure that all hoses, skirt and connections are secure and intact.
- Grease the bearing using SKF general purpose bearing grease. Grease the lift thread above and below the bolts too.
- Check that the cutters, cutter shafts and drum are not excessively worn before installing
- Check drum enclosure is clear of any build ups, and the cutter head is secure and free to rotate with no obstructions.
- Check the belt is correctly tensioned and free from damage. Remove the belt guard using a 12mm socket. For the correct tension, the belt should have 13mm free play.
