Achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2030, guided by our four key principles
At Trelawny, we have identified where we can make an impact: achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2030, guided by our four key principles.
To make our sustainability journey successful, we also need our global customers and end users to join our effort too. Here’s what we can achieve together:
1 Carbon Reporting All customer invoices include the estimated CO2 emissions (in kilograms) for the consignment, based on the selected shipping method and shipment weight.
2 Forecasts Improved stock forecasting enhances demand planning and enables more efficient shipping, reducing the need for costly and carbon-intensive air freight. What’s more, refining minimum order quantities (MOQs) optimises for carbon efficiency.
3 Mindset By working with our employees, customers and partners, we can make a bigger impact. Together, we must improve our mindset and our procedures to make the difference in sustainability.
4 Awareness All employees have completed carbon literacy training and Trelawny have been awarded Silver status by the Carbon Literate Organisation. We’re also working closely with our supply chain and global customers to raise awareness.
Our sustainability practices in action
We’re on our way to net zero carbon emissions by 2030 by…
…acting on our energy use
In addition to the introduction of new LED low voltage lighting, we’ve cut our annual business transport CO2 emissions by 40% with the use of electric vehicles.
…reporting CO2 per sales consignment
Every customer invoice and dispatch note carries the CO2 emissions (in kilograms) for the consignment shipped. We use data-driven analysis to improve logistical and stock holding decisions.
…creating awareness
We have achieved a Silver Award for Carbon Literacy, helping everyone understand their personal and business impact on the environment. With this mapped out, we can work together to reach net zero.
…acting on our packaging use
Our new hand-tool carton uses less recycled card for production and disposal, and it takes up less space in transit, making our global distribution more efficient.
Our six EU Sustainability Goals
We’ve identified six EU Sustainability Goals that influence our trading behaviours. We encourage all our business associates to discuss how we can work together to reduce CO2 emissions, increase efficiency and lower costs by challenging conventions.
