The making of the TCG500

09 May

Trelawny’s TCG500 isn’t just assembled – it’s hand-crafted. Built in the UK at our Leamington Spa Head Office, our heavy-duty floor grinder has been a trusted choice since its launch in 2000. It’s built by a dedicated team with over 75 years of combined hands-on experience. At the centre of our process is a commitment to quality assurance, to make sure every element meets the highest of standards.

With a wealth of knowledge, we’re able to fully hand build every machine and fine-tune them with precision. At Trelawny, we’re proud to share with you how we combine craftsmanship and performance.

Foundations of our floor grinding solutions

We follow stringent operating procedures and use advanced tools and hydraulic lifting equipment to ensure safety and precision during the build. From the initial design to the final delivery, every stage happens at our Head Office.

Building the TCG500

Building the TCG500 begins with the precise assembly of its rugged chassis, which lays the base for everything to come. It’s then followed by the powerful petrol and electric motor which is carefully integrated and this is when you can see the machine starts to take shape. After this, each component is fitted into place with expert attention. The finishing touches are applied, including Trelawny’s iconic red branding, then the machine is refined and ready for action. Finally, we pack it securely, preparing it for its journey to its new owner.

Why we choose to hand build

At Trelawny, we hand build because getting every little detail right is paramount. By doing so, we can be precise and make sure each element is carefully inspected to meet our exceptional standards. With rigorous quality checks, we make sure the machine delivers long-lasting performance, especially in critical areas.

Each machine is individually made giving us the flexibility to customise each model to meet the unique needs of the market, from motor configurations to the installation of diamond discs. To us, the most important aspect is engineering a machine that’s reliable, durable and built to live up to the high expectations our customers have.
