Why three leaders came together

The Trelawny, BSO Svendborg and SepcoTech partnership formed from a shared recognition that Hand Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) – caused by traditional descaling tools – posed a serious threat to crew health.

Committed to improving crew welfare, we set out to reduce the risks of nerve damage, numbness and fatigue inherent in standard descaling tools.

With the awareness that many crew members continue to operate traditional equipment, making them more susceptible to negative long-term effects, we saw the need to design and develop low-vibration solutions. They not only protect operators but also improve productivity during these maintenance tasks.

How the partnership fuelled innovation

Trelawny designed and developed a range of low-vibration equipment that emits up to seven times less vibration than the standard industry alternatives.

This breakthrough has been made possible thanks to innovative engineering. It’s allowed us to significantly reduce vibration for enhanced operator health and safety – all without affecting machine performance. Our Vibro-Lo™ technology maintains a high-power output for maximum productivity and its low-air consumption reduces wear and tear on equipment.

With the support of BSO Svendborg and SepcoTech, we’ve upgraded multiple fleets for companies such as TB Marine and Hafnia – all of which are proud to have raised the bar for their onboard safety and preparation standards.

BSO Svendborg has been instrumental in crafting this change, developing fleet-specific surface preparation guidelines that ensured adherence to the strictest safety and best practice protocols.
