When it comes to applications such as levelling or removing materials like concrete, screeds or coatings, maintaining your cutters is crucial for effective results. To ensure your Trelawny TFP Scarifier is always ready for removing painted lines, grooving, texturing concrete and stripping scale from steel, find out how to change your cutters and keep your machine performing at its best.
Step-by-step: how to change your cutters
Before and after every use of your Trelawny TFP Scarifier, check the cutters and shafts.
Overcutting can cause excessive wear and lead to further damage of your machine. Forcing the cutters into the surface can significantly reduce their lifespan for no benefit in performance. By checking your machine regularly and changing worn cutters and shafts, you will keep your equipment reliable and performing to its best.
Follow these steps to replace your rotary cutter blades:
To replace cutters and cutter drums components, remove the drum from the machine.
Unscrew the four countersunk screws and locknuts from one side of the cutter drum.
Remove each of the flail shafts by pushing the shaft from the opposite side of the drum via the opposing holes in the side plate, use a small screw drive or punch if needed check each shaft for wear and replace if necessary.
To load new cutters on to the flail shaft, choose the correct configuration for your application.
One of the most important maintenance tasks is changing worn cutter and shafts. Whether you’re looking at concrete surface preparation or cleaning steel, new cutters will keep you achieving high-quality, professional results every time.
